Our Story

Larusée is a family distillery founded in 2012 in Fenin, in the Val-de-Ruz near Neuchâtel, a region closely tied to the historic birthplace of absinthe. The project emerged after years spent developing and refining recipes inspired by nineteenth-century traditions, originally worked on quietly within the family before the distillery formally opened its doors.

From the beginning, Larusée sought to combine respect for heritage with a contemporary sensibility. Rooted in the long cultural history of the Green Fairy, the distillery presents its creations as a refined reinterpretation of a drink that once inspired generations of artists. Over time, its absinthes have gained recognition in international competitions, reinforcing the reputation of this small Swiss house beyond its local origins.

Savoir-faire

Larusée’s absinthes are distilled entirely by hand in the canton of Neuchâtel, following a recipe originating in the nineteenth century that has been carefully refined over time. The distillery maintains a fully artisanal approach, from the selection of botanicals to the bottling and finishing of each bottle.

While deeply anchored in traditional methods, Larusée aims to offer a contemporary expression of absinthe, one defined by balance, aromatic complexity, and elegance. Alongside its absinthes, the distillery has gradually expanded its range with spirits such as pastis and gin, all produced according to the same philosophy: craftsmanship, attention to detail, and respect for the character of the plants that shape the spirit.
